Senior Day 2024

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made our 3rd Annual Senior Day a resounding success on June 8th, 2024!

A special thank you to our army of volunteers from Original Strength Institute, Manna Church Capital Area, Hope Community Church Fuquay-Varina, and our dedicated market volunteers - Elizabeth, Chandler and Christian.

Our deepest gratitude goes to our financial supporters: AARP North Carolina, Hope Community Church Fuquay-Varina, Manna Church Capital Area, Fuquay-Varina Exchange Club, Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club, Downtown Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club, Bee at Home, Mary Twiddy - Edward Jones, Alex Barker - MARY KAY, and Kentucky 1871 Flowers.

A huge thank you to Hope Community Church Fuquay-Varina for distributing over 100 grocery bags with meals to our visiting seniors, and to Ms. North Carolina Senior America, Myrna Gay Motzer, for gracing our market with her presence and volunteerism.

We also appreciate our guests who provided resources and information to our seniors: AARP North Carolina, ClearCaptions, WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Mary Twiddy - Edward Jones, and Bee at Home.

Special thanks to AARP North Carolina for providing free ice cream to our visiting seniors and to our friend Gary Grimmer for capturing memories of the day. To Classy and Jazzy DJ for crooning our seniors with her timeless songs!

Thank you to our incredible staff, Marge, Aimee, Mya, and our interns, for all their hard work. Last but not, least - to all of our vendors for all of their hard work and dedication!

• The first 150 economically disadvantaged seniors aged 60 and above received $30 in Growers Market vouchers to purchase fresh produce, proteins, cheese, honey, and other food items.

• Free bags of groceries were provided by Hope Community Church Fuquay-Varina. Each bag contained 3-4 meals.

• Complimentary ice cream from Francee Farm, courtesy of AARP North Carolina was provided to seniors.

• Seniors participated in free raffles with amazing prizes.
