Senior Day 2023

What an incredible Senior Day it was at the Growers Market on Saturday, July 8th! The turnout was remarkable (over 1,000!), with seniors eagerly queuing for vouchers as early as 7:30AM. We provided $30 worth of market vouchers to 150 seniors on fixed incomes, allowing them to purchase a variety of produce, proteins, cheese, and honey. AARP North Carolina also generously distributed ice cream vouchers to all the seniors who visited.

In total, we distributed $4,500 worth of vouchers on Senior Day. Additionally, by the end of the month, we plan to buy $500 worth of produce and proteins from our local farmers, which will be delivered to the 60 seniors residing at the Fuquay-Varina Homes for the Elderly.

The success of Senior Day wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated support of numerous volunteers and outreach organizations. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the following individuals and groups:
