In Season Aquaponics, Inc.

At In Season Aquaponics we grow our veggies using three main sustainable hydroponic techniques; nutrient film technique (nft), bato bucket, and deep water culture systems. These systems allow us to be really stingy with water and very precise with nutrients and pH. The result is exceptionally good taste and vigorous growth with very little water use- basically just what is lost through the leaves of the plants. We grow everything indoors and are able to exclude enough pests and pathogens that we are able to avoid spraying anything on our produce.

We provide a variety of peppers, from superhot to not-a-lot, and only harvest them when they are at proper ripeness and peak heat. We incorporate sustainability into all aspects of our company, going beyond simple agrichemical reduction. Some examples include sourcing recycled paper for shipping/informational materials, reusing nursery pots, choosing biodegradable seedling trays, rainwater harvesting, and promoting soil health. Growing at Good Hope Farm in 2022, we hope to grow enough peppers to introduce many more people in the triangle to the amazing variety, flavors and colors of hot peppers! Find us on Facebook

Visionary Microgreens*

We grow several varieties of microgreens. Most varieties have a short growing cycle and will be harvested 8-12 days from when we sew the seeds. The first several days of the seed's life are spent covered up with another tray and weighted down. When the seed first sprouts in this condition, it has to push its roots down and work hard to send the stem upward. These growing conditions make the stems stronger and the plant heartier. (A tray of Black Oil Sunflower seeds in germination will lift up the tray with the 15-pound weight!) Once the seeds are out of the covered germination phase, they are put under growing lights and watered every day until they are ready for harvest. We usually deliver our products hours after harvesting. That way, they are as fresh as possible. Your container of microgreens is happiest in the refrigerator around 37-39 degrees Fahrenheit - cold but not where they may freeze! Under these conditions, your micro-vegetables should stay fresh for 7-14 days.

Hidden Acres Farm

Hidden Acres Farm is a small family farm in the northern part of Franklin County. We raise 100% grass-fed and finished beef and pastured poultry. We strive to provide meat from animals raised the way God intended - slowly, humanely, and as close to their natural habitat as possible. We use regenerative practices such as rotational grazing to take care of our land and keep our animals happy. We jokingly say we are not "cattle farmers", but "grass farmers". We grow the grass so the animals can grow the meat.

Our cattle and sheep are raised on only grass and are never fed any grains - this allows them to grow slowly and create a delicious flavor that you just can't buy at the grocery store. Our chickens are raised on pasture as well and are moved daily. This allows them to eat fresh grass and bugs every day. Our chickens eat a locally grown, non-GMO feed that keeps them functioning well.

Sprinkles ‘n Spice

In early 2020, my family relocated from the NY Finger Lakes Region to Fuquay-Varina as part of a company relocation program. After working nearly four decades for an iconic global corporation, I decided to retire at the end of January 2022 to pursue some personal dreams and rediscover real joy in my life. I’m a small-town gal who loves to spend time in my kitchen baking and sharing my creations with others.

Over the years, family, friends, and coworkers have enjoyed my sweet cut-out cookie creations, and many have encouraged me to pursue my passion of baking as a business. I loved the idea! I am licensed as a Home Processor in NC, so I am officially open for business. While my flagship product is the cutout cookie, other products are just as fun and tasty.

My Father and Me

“My Father and Me Farms” started out as completely undeveloped 40 acres of land in Rockingham County”. Today, it is a 40-acre functional farm, complete with a full kitchen for processing, and over 10 thriving non-genetically modified crops across the seasons. Paul Florence, Sr., the owner and proprietor, started the project after retiring from a career as a hospice nurse. Paul became a hospice nurse after realizing he had a God-given gift for easing the suffering of those approaching the end of their journey in this world. He enthusiastically stepped into the field after diligently attending to his own father through his battle with Alzheimer’s, with Paul essentially acting as his hospice nurse. Thereafter, Paul worked as a hospice nurse until his retirement, proving peace to those transitioning from this world, while also comforting their families. Paul started “My Father and Me” to honor God, his family, and the memory of his father as well as all those who have left us. “My Father and Me Farms” is primarily owned and operated by Paul Florence, Sr., with help from his sons, Paul Florence, Jr. and Will Florence.

Paul’s goal with “My Father and Me” is to offer the highest quality produce at affordable prices. In addition, he sells his very own marinara sauce, utilizing only the highest quality tomatoes from the farm. The recipe for this delicious sauce was created by Paul, and his son, Will, who is licensed dietician practicing in Raleigh, NC. The recipe’s origin dates back over 30 years, when Paul served a version of the sauce on top of his signature chicken parmigiana dish at his very own restaurant, “Paul’s Bar and Grill”, a fixture of downtown Greensboro in its time. Trust us when we say that once you’ve tried this sauce, it will become a staple of your weekly dinner menu.

Craft Artisans

Sawdust & Sage

Palletwood is creatively repurposed into rustic furniture and other urban farmhouse decor for home and garden. We are Karen and Tyler, a mother and son team, making seasonal items like potato planters, fire pit covers, and Christmas Tree boxes.  A large majority of our time is spent making upcycled pallet wood barn quilts, wood art, benches, chairs, and tables. He is the SAWDUST and I am the SAGE.

Our exploration into this small business venture actually started when Tyler turned 10 years old and we decided homeschooling was the way we wanted to live and learn.  We believe that everyone has a gift.  While embracing Tyler's gifts, we discovered that he was really good at making things.  Teaching ourselves through different projects and tools we found that we were both enjoy the creative process.

In 2017, it was clear that this is Tyler's gift.  As we practiced and leaned together, Tyler's pallet furniture business became very successful, then we branched out into other farmhouse style items.  Our family business is a passion project turned full time job, inspired through our love of learning, acceptance, individuality and perseverance.  Let us build something special for you. The Pink Hound Co

I'm Penny and I have been operating The Pink Hound for about a year now. This is something that started with a heat press and a stack of screen prints on my dining room table, and has now grown and I had to move into a she-shed! I love creating shirts, jewelry, car fresheners, probably because there's no end to what you can design and put on them. I never dreamed I would enjoy something so much! I think about shirts and making them when I'm at my "real" job!

I love the country life and I try to reflect that in a lot of what I do because that's just who I am. I know that's not for everyone but I do try to have variety for everyone and I think I do a good job of mixing it up but you will see a lot of farm, country and western designs at The Pink Hound. The name of my business just popped in my head one night because I have three hounds and they are my favorite dogs, and I love pink so I'm like-oh! The Pink Hound! So it stuck! I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I did creating them!

Amico Designs

I’ve been making art and jewelry for over thirty years. My love of color, contrast, rhythm and the beauty of natural objects is where I find inspiration for jewelry designs. I’ve lived in downtown Fuquay-Varina for thirty-five years and grew my graphic design business here. Now I have the wonderful opportunity to make art and jewelry the focus of my work. I feel lucky everyday!
