The Fuquay-Varina Growers Market (FVGM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, operating under Sownhay Inc., cultivating and supporting partnerships between local farmers, producers, artisans and the public. The Growers Market is committed in providing an inclusive, equitable, and safe-space regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or social economic status.

We are on track to have 12K+ total visitors to our market this season which ends on September 10th and we have two popups planned for this fall.  The Fuquay-Varina Growers Market has gone from having 8-10 vendors in previous years to 18-26 vendors every Saturday this season. 

One of our biggest successes has been our community outreach programs which were grant funded in 2022 by Wake County’s division of Food Security using ARPA funds.  We have been able to double benefits used up to $20 on all SNAP/EBT and WIC & Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers spent at our market.  We have also used those funds to purchase $100 worth of produce weekly from our farmers which is being donated to four organizations within our community:  The FV Emergency Pantry, Pine Acres Community Center, Operation Nahyelle, and FV Homes for the Elderly.  As you can imagine, this has been a huge win not only for those most vulnerable in our community, but also for our farmers and local economy. 

We would like to continue our work in 2023 and we have grown this season larger than we had expected. With that comes the need for more sponsorship dollars to keep us operating.

• Provide family-friendly, safe, and fun events at the Market for all ages featuring Local Musicians, Ice Cream Socials, Kids Craft Corner, raffles, cooking demonstrations, and more!

• Support the market and our efforts to educate the community on healthy eating and sustainable growing practices.

• Help farmers make a living while staying on their farms as they serve as good stewards of the environment

• Allow the FVGM to reach more people through the EBT/SNAP and other community outreach by providing important nutritional support for low-wage working families, low-income seniors, and people with disabilities living on fixed incomes.

• Ensure the sustainability of the FVGM as a cornerstone of our community and an added attraction to downtown Fuquay.
